Pray

Pray when you feel like it.
and pray when you don’t feel like it.
and pray ‘til you feel like it.

Praying is so tough. It goes against our flesh. Prayer goes against the very selfish nature of our mind. Our selfish nature will do anything to avoid praying. Because praying would mean that we would have to depend on God, not our flesh, and that would require us to relinquish our control. We are so selfish that we don’t want to give up control of self. Perhaps self-control should be called God-control, meaning that your flesh doesn’t control you but God’s Spirit does.

Peter, James and John struggled to stay awake and pray when Jesus wanted them to pray the most at Gethsemane. When I was a kid I would call them ‘weak-sauce’ but haha, I don’t judge them anymore. Lord, help me to be ‘hot-sauce’!
